Last update: December 12, 2023.

Thanks for reading our privacy policy. Details follow but here are a few quick takeaways…

Tickit is not in the data harvesting or selling business – we collect the minimum data required to fulfill your order and ensure our services are running efficiently.

Merchants using Tickit have access to your data and may do things with it that we can’t control – please review their individual privacy policies.

Merchants may add third-party tracking scripts to their stores (like Facebook sign-ins or ad tracking scripts). If you’re not comfortable with that we recommend using an ad blocker.

We use Google Analytics to track how the site is performing. There are Facebook and Twitter sharing buttons on some pages, but we only load the sharing scripts if you explicitly click to share.

Introduction

Tickit is a ticket selling platform that allows merchants to host and manage online stores.

This privacy policy applies to how we use and collect data. Individual merchants have access to much of this data, too, and may be using other services or have different practices. We do not control how they use that data and so we encourage you to learn about their privacy practices as well.

Information automatically collected when visiting our site

Some information is automatically collected by us when you visit our website or open emails from the system, including

  • your IP address, device type and some browser information
  • the date and time you accessed the site or opened the email
  • what pages you visited and links you clicked
  • what website you visited from

We collect this information to help make our site more useful by assessing our services and system performance, as well as learning how many people are visiting the site and how they are using it. No attempt is made to use this information to identify visitors, unless it is necessary for an investigation or it is required by law.

Information collected during and after the checkout process

In order to fulfill your order we collect additional information during the checkout process, including:

  • which tickets you added to your cart and any promotional links or codes that were used
  • your name, email address and billing address
  • your payment method and billing details (we never log or store your credit card number or CVV code)
  • actions you take to modify your order (e.g. changing names on tickets, sharing tickets, downloading tickets)

In order to process your order we send the minimum data possible to a number of third-party services, including payment processors and email providers.

Information you send to us using our web forms is encrypted so that it is protected from a third party accessing it in transit. However, email messages sent over the internet are generally not secure and may be read by a third party who intercepts the communication.

Information collected at event check-in

When you use your tickets we record the time and gate information when your ticket is admitted. We use this information to provide attendee statistics to merchants and to ensure tickets are valid for entry.

Data sent to third parties

Like most web sites we use a variety of third-party systems to help make the site run.

Google – We use Google Analytics to measure the performance and use of our sites. You can read their privacy policy here.

Facebook – You have the option to "RSVP on Facebook" or "Like" a Facebook page once you’ve completed your purchase. This is optional. We don’t load any Facebook scripts unless you explicitly click those links. You can read their privacy policy here.

Twitter – You have the option to send a tweet from our site once you’ve completed your purchase. This is optional. We don’t load any Twitter scripts unless you explicitly click to tweet. You can read their privacy policy here.

Mailchimp – We use Mailchimp to send emails and track when they are opened, including the IP address and type of email program used. You can read their privacy policy here.

Sentry – We use Sentry to log errors, including IP address and browser or email program being used when the error occurred. You can read their privacy policy here.

Imgix – We use Imgix to host photos. You can read their privacy policy here.

Payment processors – Merchants may connect one or more payment processors to their Tickit account, including Chase, Paymentech, Orbital, Moneris, Elavon, Bambora, Stripe and PayPal. If you would like information about payment processing for a specific merchant please email us at hello@tickit.ca.

Others – As noted above, merchants may add other advertising scripts to their stores that are not covered by this privacy policy. They may also download your data from their secure Tickit dashboard and share it with others.
